Grape growing pioneer Harry Wetzel dies

Friends and family are mourning the death of aviation pioneer, philanthropist and Alexander Valley Vineyards Winery owner Harry Herman Wetzel Jr., 88.
Wetzel died Thursday from complications of old age, said his granddaughter, Sarah Fallon, on Monday.
Wetzels wife, Margaret Maggie Cranford Kirkpatrick Wetzel, 83, died in May.

Marine layer keeping North Bay cool

A thick layer of fog covering the North Bay will keep temperatures in a mild range Monday, with Santa Rosa expected to top out no higher than 75 degrees, a National Weather Service meteorologist said Monday.

Wells Fargo acquires Santa Rosa insurance company

Wells Fargos insurance arm has acquired Martin Financial/Insurance Services, a 21-year-old agency based in Santa Rosa.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Martin Financial founder Bud Martin and his six employees will join Wells Fargo of California Insurance Services North Bay operation.
